Haverhill Man, 28, Dies In Methuen Crash, Police Investigate

A young man who was severely injured in an Essex County crash between a Jeep and a motorcycle was pronounced dead soon after, officials say.

A 28-year-old Haverhill man died on Wednesday, August 9 when his motorcycle and a Jeep Wrangler crashed at the intersection of Lowell and Arnold streets in Methuen, according to the Methuen Police Department who were notified of the crash around 8:25 p.m. that night.

The Haverhill man was heading east on Lowell Street on a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle when he collided with a 2021 black Jeep Wrangler as the Jeep attempted to turn off Lowell Street onto Arnold Street. 

The motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

The Jeep was driven by a 59-year-old Methuen man who stayed at the scene of the crash. 

Methuen Police are investigating the crash with help from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
